Tempesta P1 P-01R & P1 X-01R Guide
Vitour recommends tire scrubbing for the entire Tempesta range and proper cure time, including Tempesta P1 P-01R, P1 X-01R, and Sonic. This procedure provides longevity of tread and stable performance throughout the tire life cycle. Unscrubbed tires are susceptible to cold-graining, increased wear, and performance degradation.
Tire scrubbing for track-day and circuit competition use
Drive a 15–20 minute gentle session on the track with load gradually increasing every lap, but not reaching more than 90% of the intended pace for the tire use on track. At the end of the session, drive an additional cool-down lap. Any wheelspin, wheel locking, sliding, or other aggressive driving during the scrubbing session should be avoided!
After the tire scrubbing session, the tire set should be left alone to cure for no less than 24 hours — meaning for an upcoming track day or competition, scrubbing should be done at least two days prior to the event. This is a crucial step for a successful scrubbing procedure.
Pressure and Camber for Track use
Cold tire pressures — 1.8 bar (~26 psi) for vehicles under 1400 kg (~3086 lb); 1.9 bar (~27.5 psi) for vehicles over 1400 kg. Adjust and monitor every 4–5 laps until the pressure stabilizes.
Hot tire pressures — 1.9–2.2 bar (~27.5–32 psi) range depending on car weight on the front axle.
Rear axle can be adjusted ± 0.2 bar (~3 psi) depending on balance and handling needs. Less pressure to adjust oversteer; more pressure to adjust understeer.
Optimal camber from −2.5° to −4°. Check wear and temperatures; for an ideal setup, aim for inner tread temps slightly higher than outside and center section.
